Reason for Hope

I recently listened to a local WBUR (NPR) talk show called “On Point”. One is about “Big Business Going Green” about top CEOs (GE, Duke Energy, Alcoa, etc.) calling for the government to impose mandatory limits upon their businesses!! Radical! Here’s a quote from Duke Energy CEO Jim Rogers:

As I review the science, it’d be my judgment that the science is clear and that man-made emissions are contributing to the warming and that we need to act now but not only should we act now but we need to be prepared to have a sustained effort over several decades to address this growing problem.

This gives me great hope, because these are the kinds of guys who need to be taking action to make a difference. The global warming deniers are losing the “meme war” which they’ve been fighting with the same underhanded tactics that big tobacco used.
